Andre Lagarde joined Social Media Victims Law Center in September 2025, after spending nearly seventeen years as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Louisiana. As an AUSA, Andre tried civil and criminal cases to verdict and argued before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. During his career with the government, Andre received numerous awards and recognitions, including EOUSA’s Director’s Award for Superior Performance by a Litigative Team.
Andre has extensive experience leading complex financial investigations; and he served in numerous positions in both the civil and criminal divisions, including Deputy Chief of the Public Integrity Unit, Affirmative Civil Enforcement and Civil Health Care Fraud Coordinator (False Claims Act), Asset Forfeiture Coordinator, SAR Review Team Coordinator, FinCEN Coordinator, and Ethics Advisor. Andre served as a frequent lecturer in these areas and provided regular training on financial investigations, the Bank Secrecy Act, and money laundering.
Before his time as an Assistant United States Attorney, Andre was a civil litigator in New Orleans, where he tried both state and federal cases in Louisiana and handled many appeals in Louisiana appellate courts. Following a nomination and vote by the Louisiana State Bar Association (LSBA), Andre previously served on the Executive Council of the LSBA Labor & Employment Section. He holds an AV Preeminent® Martindale-Hubbell® Peer Review Rating.™ Andre graduated from Tulane University Law School in 2003; and he resides in New Orleans, Louisiana with his wife Brittany.
