We’re incredibly proud to share that very own Laura Marquez-Garrett has been awarded the Parents 2025 Next Gen Award—a new honor celebrating 40 people across the country who are helping families not just get by, but truly thrive.
It’s a big moment, and one that reflects the impact Laura continues to make for kids and parents navigating today’s digital world.
As Senior Counsel at the Social Media Victims Law Center, Laura has filed over 1,000 legal actions nationwide against tech companies whose platforms are contributing to youth harm. But what makes their work stand out isn’t just the volume—it’s the mission behind it. They are not in this for headlines or numbers. Laura is in constant conversation with lawmakers, educators, parents, and reporters, doing the hard work to push for meaningful change. They help families understand what’s happening behind the screen—and more importantly, how to fight back.
This recognition from Parents puts Laura in the company of change makers and advocates who are stepping up in a big way for the next generation, including, Michelle Obama, Steph Curry, and Gabrielle and Dwayne Wade, who also received the award.
We see Laura’s dedication every day, and we’re thrilled that more families across the country are getting the chance to see it too.
Congratulations, Laura—and thank you for everything you do!
